Challenge
A central challenge in the battery industry is the ability to predict how a cell will behave over its lifetime. Conventional quality assurance methods only measure short-term parameters and often fail to capture indicators of long-term degradation. As a result, manufacturers face uncertainty: cells that pass initial testing may underperform or fail prematurely in real-world applications.​
Limatica Approach
In partnership with Sphere Energy, LIMATICA is exploring the correlation between voltage noise and lifecycle performance. By analyzing noise signatures during early testing, we extract data that reveals the intrinsic activity of the cell. This data is then linked to long-term performance metrics, allowing us to build predictive models of how a cell will age.
