Challenge
Electrolyte filling remains a critical and technically complex step in the battery production chain, directly affecting cell performance, safety, and yield. Current monitoring methods are limited in their ability to detect inhomogeneities or incomplete wetting at scale. In this context, LIMATICA's novel non-invasive cell qualification method — offering high-resolution internal diagnostics — represents a promising promise for real-time and post-process quality control.
Limatica Approach
Together with this partner, LIMATICA is developing a new test method to evaluate cell quality immediately after electrolyte filling. By applying our passive, noise-based diagnostic technology at this earlier stage, we aim to evaluate the wetting progress and push cells directly to formation when wetting is completely executed. This collaboration combines the partners expertise in large-scale production technology with LIMATICA’s high-resolution diagnostic approach, creating a solution that is inline-capable, scalable, and industry-ready.
