About the Role

Who We Are 🌍

Limatica is a young and dynamic startup revolutionizing the battery diagnostics space. Our mission? Bring battery cell quality to the next level and drastically reduce scrap rates using our own proprietary measurement method. Instead of weeks of testing, our technology enables deep battery diagnostics within minutes.

After founding the company and developing our first prototype in 2023, we secured pilot partners, Pre-Seed funding, and built our first core team during 2024 and 2025. In 2026, we are entering the market and scaling — and we are looking for people who want to build technology, not just maintain it.

We’re not a company with rigid hierarchies or repetitive routines. At Limatica, you’ll be part of a fast-moving, close-knit team where ideas are heard, ownership is expected, and every day brings new technical challenges and learning opportunities. You won’t just work for us — you’ll grow with us.

What You’ll Do 🌟

As a Data Engineer, you’ll take part in shaping the core of our technology by analyzing, developing, and improving how we process and interpret measurement data. You’ll work closely with engineering and software teams to translate raw signals into valuable insights and more efficient diagnostics.

Your Key Responsibilities 🛠️

  • Develop and apply innovative data analysis techniques to optimize our measurement systems and extract valuable insights from collected data

  • Support the continuous improvement of evaluation algorithms and the entire analysis process to increase accuracy and efficiency

  • Collaborate on data science and signal processing development projects in-house and with external partners

  • Contribute to the design of data pipelines and statistical models for automated analysis workflows

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering and software teams to turn data into actionable improvements

  • Learn to navigate research grant applications and collaborative research initiatives with industry and academic partners

What We’re Looking For 🕵️‍♀️

We’re looking for a curious and motivated Junior Data Scientist who is eager to turn raw measurement data into meaningful insights and help build the data foundation of our battery diagnostic technology. You don’t need years of experience — what matters most is your technical curiosity, analytical mindset, and willingness to grow.

Your Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Degree (or near completion) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Programming Skills:

    • Proficient in Python for scripting and automation

    • Good knowledge of SQL for querying and managing databases

  • Data Engineering Fundamentals:

    • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline concepts

    • Experience or willingness to learn tools for workflow automation (e.g., Apache Airflow, cron jobs)

  • Database Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)

    • Bonus: Exposure to NoSQL databases or data warehouses

  • Data Handling:

    • Ability to clean, transform, and organize raw data from diverse sources

  • Cloud & Big Data (Nice to Have):

    • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

    • Interest in learning big data tools and scalable solutions

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Detail-oriented with a passion for improving data quality and reliability

  • Team Player:

    • Willingness to collaborate across teams (software, embedded, engineering)

    • Good communication skills and eagerness to learn from others
